বাংলাদেশ সরকারের জাতীয় নিরাপত্তা গোয়েন্দা অধিদপ্তরের (এনএসআই) বর্তমান মহাপরিচালক মেজর জেনারেল টি এম জোবায়ের লন্ডনে ২৯ লক্ষ ৪৫ হাজার পাউন্ড (বাংলাদেশী মুদ্রায় প্রায় ৩৫ কোটি টাকা) মূল্যে একটি আলীশান বাড়ি কিনেছেন। লন্ডনের বেক্সলী এলাকার হেথ কর্ফট ওয়ানসান্ট সড়কের ৭ নাম্বার বাড়িটি (7 Heath croft, Wansunt Road, BEXLEY, DA5 2DN) লন্ডনের ক্রয়ডন এইচ আর ভূমি রেজিস্ট্রার অফিসে রেজিস্ট্রেশন করা হয়েছে তিন জনের নামে। তারা হলেন টি এম জুবায়ের, এফ মাসুদ, এবং মোহাম্মদ এস ইবনে জুবায়ের নামে।
রেজিস্ট্রেশনে উল্লেখিত নাম এফ মাসুদ হচ্ছেন টিম এম জুবায়েরের স্ত্রী ফাহমিদা মাসুদ, এবং মোহাম্মদ এস ইবনে জুবায়ের তাদের ছেলে। এই বাড়ি কিনতে কোনো ব্যাংক ঋণ নেয়া হয়নি, অর্থাৎ নগদ মূল্যে কেনা হয়েছে। দলিলটি স্থানীয় কাউন্সিল অফিস থেকে ভেরিফাই করা হয়েছে।
মেজর জেনারেল টিএম জুবায়ের বাংলাদেশ সেনাবাহিনীর ১৬তম লংকোর্সের একজন অফিসার। ২০১৮ সালের ৩১ জুলাই তাকে মেজর জেনারেল পদে পদোন্নতি দিয়ে এনএসআইর ডিজি নিয়োগ করা হয়। উল্লেখ্য যে, এনএসআইতে কোটি কোটি টাকার সোর্স-মানি থাকে, যার কোনো হিসাব দিতে হয় না, অডিট হয়না।
বাংলাদেশে বর্তমান নৈশভোট সরকারের গুম খুন প্রক্রিয়ায় র্যাব, ডিজিএফআই, পুলিশের সাথে সমান তালে পাল্লা দিয়ে চলছে এনএসআই। প্রতিষ্ঠিত ব্যবসায়ী ও ধনাঢ্য ব্যক্তিদেরকে গুম করে আটকে রেখে শত শত কোটি টাকা মুক্তিপন আদায়ের অসংখ্য ঘটনার বিবরণ প্রকাশ হতে পারছে না কেবল জীবন হারানোর আশংকায়।
আরো উল্লেখ্য, সেনাপ্রধান থাকাকালে জেনারেল আজিজ তার কোর্সমেট কর্নেল শহিদের সাথে টেলিফোন কথপোকথনের সময় উল্লেখ করেছিলেন, শেখ হাসিনার সকল খুনখারাবি করে থাকে ব্রিগেডিয়ার জিয়াউল আহসান এবং ব্রিগেডিয়ার জোবায়ের। জেনারেল আজিজের জবানীতে,”যত কুকীর্তি আছে, জিয়া (ব্রিগেডিয়ার জিয়াউল আহসান) আর জোবায়ের, এই দুইজনকে দিয়া (তারেক সিদ্দিকী) করায়—-এখনো করায়, দোস্ত এখনো করায়।
এই যে গুম থেকে শুরু করে এগুলা কিন্তু আমাকে আবেদীন (মেজর জেনারেল সাইফুল আবেদীন, ডিজি ডিজিএফআই) অনেকবার বলছে, স্যার এগুলো সব জিয়াকে দিয়ে করায়। আমি কিন্তু জিয়াকে চেইঞ্জ করার জন্য প্রপোজাল নিয়া গেছিলাম একদম ওপরে, কিন্তু রাজী হয় নাই। করে নাই। দোস্ত বুঝছস, চাইলেই কিন্তু অনেক কিছু হয় না!”
